Monday, April 21, 2014

WHEELING, W.Va. – In the week before Mother’s Day, Ohio Valley women will receive a special opportunity to listen to a nationally known motivational speaker discussing topics that empower them to live healthy lives.

Ohio Valley Medical Center & East Ohio Regional Hospital welcome back Dale Smith Thomas, author of Winners by Choice, to its campus on May 6th at the hospital’s Pink Power Night event. The event is free and open to the public. Steptoe & Johnson and the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce are major sponsors for the event. This will make Thomas’ second speaking engagement at OVMC.

“We wanted to bring Dale back to the Ohio Valley to challenge women to make winning choices in all aspects of their lives,” said Michael Caruso, President & CEO of OVHS&E. “Dale speaks about the importance of balance and healthy living in women’s everyday lives. Most attendees of her events leave feeling a sense of encouragement, and that is what we want to see for the women in the Ohio Valley community.”

For more than 17 years, Thomas has been empowering, educating and daring audiences to make choices to be their personal best in all areas of their lives. Her down-to-earth approach has audiences walking away with information they can use immediately. Thomas’ powerful and direct message has been shared around the globe to audiences in all walks of life. Industries from insurance, health care, direct sales, financial, and entertainment have been inspired and encouraged by Thomas’ effective message.

Dale knows how to connect to the head and heart of each audience and engages them with success keys that empower them to make choices that will make them champions,” said Caruso.

Described as an "unapologetic optimist," Thomas’ energy and messages are captivating. A few key ideas from her speeches are cultivating a vision of success and altering negative attitudes.  She encourages her audience to identify problems and empower solutions, so women may reclaim the joy and peace in their lives.

If you saw Thomas in the fall, you will undoubtedly not want to miss her return! Her program will be new and full of insight, humor, motivation and energy that is contagious to all in attendance.

“In addition to the public event, Thomas will provide several sessions for the employees of our organization” stated Laurie Labishak, Vice President of Marketing. “This is our gift to our staff in celebration of National Hospital Week and to say thank you for a job well done.”

As part of the hospital’s Pink Power Night series, Thomas joins the list of monthly speakers who address important issues to women. The power events are geared toward helping women live healthy lives and occur the first Tuesday of every month. The May 6th event is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the OVMC Nurses Residence Auditorium where a women’s expo of various vendors will also take place. Space is limited to the free event, and reservations are required. Registration can be submitted online at www.ovmc-eorh.com or (304) 234-8233.
