Hospitals add locations in Elm Grove and Bridgeport.Wednesday, March 04, 2015
Ohio Valley Medical Center and East Ohio Regional Hospital announce the expansion of their physical therapy outpatient services with the opening of two new locations in West Virginia and Ohio.
The new locations on Main Street in Bridgeport and on Community Street in Elm Grove are aimed to provide more convenient access to patients seeking outpatient physical therapy services. With the expansion, the hospitals now have physical therapy services in five locations, which also include OVMC, EORH, and St. Clairsville.
“This expansion of our physical therapy services is another example of our commitment to offer caring professionals who are leading the way in their fields within the Ohio Valley community. We're committed to working with our patients and their families to achieve their goals – getting them back on your feet and back to your life,” said Kelly Bettem, vice president and chief administrative officer for OVMC. “OVMC and EORH have earned a reputation of excellence with being named the only Orthopedic Center of Excellence by the Joint Commission in our region. Our physical therapy department is an extension of our highly recognized program.”
In addition, the hospitals welcomed Bob Ullum, a McMechen native, as the new outpatient physical therapy manager. Ullom is actively involved in patient care at the Elm Grove location and has begun seeing patients daily.
“I am honored to work with so many well-versed therapists, who together average 22 years of experience in physical therapy for our patients, and our team approach ultimately benefits our patients and is a testament to the high quality of care they can expect to receive at our clinics,” said Ullum.
Outpatient clinics offer new equipment and some specializes services, such as lymphedema massage and dry needling, which is a form of acupuncture and a newer trend in physical therapy services. Kelly Kuchinksi is the lead physical therapist at the new Bridgeport location and has been providing these services at EORH and OVMC in past years.
“Expanding our services to the outpatient facilities allows our patients to get the care they need through easy access. This can make the patient's life easier because it is more convenient for them to access our new locations without having to take elevators or lengthy steps to receive their treatments,” said Kuchinski.
New clinic hours for Elm Grove are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bridgeport hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
