Safety In The Hills

Wheeling, W.Va. – Rain or shine you can count on “Jamboree in the Hills” (JITH) every summer in July, and you can also count on Ohio Valley Medical Center (OVMC) and East Ohio Regional Hospital (EORH) to be there to take care of all your health needs during this fun-filled week.  OVMC and EORH have been the only official medical provider for “Jamboree in the Hills” for nearly 40 years.

The OVMC/EORH Jamboree Medical Tent opens Sunday, July 12th at 4 p.m. near the main entrance of the event, and will remain open 24 hours a day until Monday, July 20 at 8 a.m.  Our Jamboree Medical Tent will be staffed with paramedics, nurses, and physicians.  Ambulances will also be available for concert goers who may need transported to our hospitals.

“Jamboree has several new events planned this year to enhance the experience of the attendees,” said Staci Trudo, Chief Quality Officer of OVHS&E and JITH Medical Tent Director.  “We anticipate a large crowd with these new attractions.  In addition, due to the wet ground, there could be an increased number of accidents or injuries.”

While we want your week at Jamboree In The Hills to be a safe and enjoyable experience, we know medical emergencies arise, and our team of medical professionals will be on-site to provide you with the outstanding care you deserve.

OVHS&E is the parent company of the Ohio Valley Medical Center, located in Wheeling, W.Va., and East Ohio Regional Hospital, located in Martins Ferry, Ohio. Together we are a 340-bed combined organization with more than 1,600 employees providing the area’s only comprehensive orthopedic centers of excellence, behavioral and mental health services and board certified emergency services on both sides of the Ohio River.
