Thursday, May 11, 2017

Are you going to be a new grandparent in the near future or are you on call to babysit some adorable grandbabies? This is your chance to show your adult children that you have all the skills needed to take care of their little bundles of joy!! Join us for this brand new program, Grandparents Camp 2017 set for Tuesday, May 16 at the OVMC Nurses Residence Auditorium.

As you know things have changed since we had our children especially when it comes to areas such as safe sleep and car seat safety. In addition to these topics, you will hear more about infant and child CPR, meet our nurses, talk to a pediatrician, and even play Grandparent BINGO!!

Dr. Mackenzie Mincey, OVMC Pediatrician and mom of three little ones will be presenting some wonderful information, perfect for any grandparent. According to Dr. Mincey, “I believe a program like this is so very important! The truth is mom’s like me are working so much these days and grandparents are called on to babysit their most precious little ones. Advice on child care has changed through the years and our goal is to make sure grandparents are comfortable and have the latest information available.”

This program is open to all grandparents and any other family members who assist with childcare. If you would like more information or would like to register for this great event set for Tuesday, May 16 from 6-8:00 pm in the Nurses’ Residence Auditorium, please call Sherri Kellas, Women’s Health Nurse Navigator at 304-234-8766 or email skellas@ovrh.org. In addition to great information and BINGO prizes, all will go home with a free Infant/Child CPR Anytime kit.
