Alecto Healthcare and OVMC Give Back to CommunityMonday, July 24, 2017
New office furniture and supplies are on the way so Alecto Healthcare and OVMC decided to give some of their gently used items to several local agencies. OVMC has a long history of community outreach and giving back to those in need and the Alecto philosophy is aligned with this tradition.
Organizations that have taken advantage of this generous offer include The House of the Carpenter, Goodwill, YWCA, Youth Services System, Empowerment Family Worship Center, and Bethlehem Apostolic Temple. Just some of the items donated so far include desks, chairs, couches, tables, televisions, kitchen equipment, file cabinets, wood shelving, and even an organ.
District Elder Dr. Darrell W. Cummings, Senior Pastor of Bethlehem Apostolic Temple in Wheeling, was very pleased to receive three truckloads of items from the hospital. Cummings stated, “These items will be very helpful to us and our mission at the Dream Center here in Wheeling. The chairs we received will allow us to seat more people for our outreach to the community at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Many of the other items will be used for our teen ministry program. We are very thankful to OVMC and we look forward to a continuing partnership with the new administration and Alecto Healthcare.”
Alecto Healthcare Services completed its acquisition of Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling and East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry on June 1. Since that time they have infused a large amount of cash into the organization providing updates to everything from fresh paint to new computers and new medical equipment. In addition, they plan to offer multiple community outreach events to citizens in the Ohio Valley. According to Alecto Healthcare CEO Lex Reddy, “We are a community-focused health care system and we are looking forward to working with the residents of both sides of the river in addition to supporting our physicians, employees, and volunteers.”
