What do I choose - the french fries or the broccoli?

This seems like an easy question to answer as most of us know the broccoli is the smart choice but a majority would choose the french fries. The question is - do you really know what those fries are doing to your body? Dr. Carol Antonelli-Greco will be talking about how the foods we eat really do make a difference in our health at Pink Power Night set for Tuesday, May 1 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.

Dr. Antonelli-Greco recently returned to private practice at EORH after working for eight years with Valley Hospice. She has been practicing medicine in the Ohio Valley for over twenty-eight years and is passionate about nutrition and it’s effect on her patient’s health and well-being. Through her work with Health Right, she has assisted with the formation of a group called FARMacy and has written a blog titled “Fast Food May be Your Last Food.” According to Greco, “FARMacy was established to educate people about something that was long ago forgotten, that healthy food is medicine. Convenient, unhealthy food permeates our culture. We are all in a hurry, too busy and too stressed. I invite you to come to Pink Power Night to learn more about my prescription for a healthy life.”

Pink Power activities kick off in the lower level meeting rooms at EORH at 5:30 pm with healthy snacks and a chance to shop at local vendor tables. Dr. Antonelli-Greco begins her presentation at 6:30 pm followed by the announcement of door prizes winners. Reservations are requested but not required and can be made by calling Community Outreach Manager Mary Velez at 304-234-8643.

Pink Power was first established as an opportunity for women to have a fun night out and to learn how they can improve their health. But, through the past five years, the audience has expanded and men are always welcome to attend.
