WHEELING--Two area teens were recognized by the OVMC Ladies Auxiliary at its Annual Luncheon held on Monday, May 11 in the Nurses Residence Auditorium at OVMC in Wheeling. They are Danielle Duvall of St. Clairsville and Eric Knuth of Wheeling.
Duvall is the daughter of Daniel and Judy Duvall and is a senior at St. Clairsville High School. She plans to attend Ohio University Eastern where she will major in Elementary Education. Knuth, the son of Mark and Judy Knuth, is a senior at Wheeling Central High School. He will attend Wheeling Jesuit University in the Fall, where he will study Respiratory Therapy.
The auxiliary annually recognizes volunteens at OVMC for their hard work and dedication to the program, which welcomes dozens of teenagers every Summer. The volunteens work in virtually every area of the hospital and learn valuable skills, such as responsibility, courtesy and time management. Additionally, many teens use the opportunity to introduce themselves to medical careers that they might want to pursue after high school. In order to be eligible for a $500 scholarship, a student must volunteer every summer of his or her high school career for a total of four years.
