Specialized Inpatient Care
Specialized inpatient care as part of the Hillcrest Behavioral Health Services offer inpatient treatment for patients who experience acute psychiatric symptoms. Our team of mental health professionals in this program are prepared to treat even the most challenging of mental or behavioral health issues. Our facilities include:
- 36-bed adult/rapid specialized inpatient unit at Ohio Valley Medical Center
- 18-bed child/adolsecent specialized inpatient unit at Ohio Valley Medical Center
Upon admission, our psychiatrists and therapists use a team approach for crisis stablization. Within 72 hours of admission, our treatment team works hand-in-hand with you to create an individualized treatment program to get you back on your feet as soon as possible. By taking an active role in developing your plan of care, patients and their support system have the ability to participate in planning your care and ongoing needs after your discharge from the inpatient programs. Our specialized inpatient care is focused in an accessible, controlled and safe environment that offers two comprehensive inpatient programs, each designed to address different age levels.
The adult/rapid specialized inpatient program focuses on adults in an acute crisis. Treatment modalities include:
- individualized therapies and programming
- crisis stabilization
- process therapies
- cognitive behavioral therapies
- rehabilitation strategy
- specific issue group therapies
- family accessments
- electro-convlusive therapies
- family therapy
Our child/adolescent specialized inpatient unit focuses on the belief that an emotionally disabled child or adolescent can grow and develop in a therapeutic atmostphere. Treatment modalities include:
- individualized therapies and programming
- patient education
- family therapies
- group therapies
- short-term focused therapy and problem solving activities
- activity therapies
