Visitor Information

We welcome all visitors and encourage you to have family and friends near during hospitalization. We recognize that those you may wish to have near you during your stay may not fit into the traditional or legal definition of family. We are committed to making you feel as comfortable as possible and will not restrict visitation based on these traditional definitions. You have the right to choose who may and who may not visit you during your hospital stay. If you are unable to make this decision, your support person may make it for you. We will not restrict, limit or deny visitation on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.

While we encourage you to have family and friends near you, there may be times during your stay when we must restrict visitation. These restrictions include but are not limited to:

  • Compliance with a court order limiting or restraining contact,
  • Behavior that presents a direct risk or threat to you, hospital staff or others in the immediate environment,
  • Reasonable limits on the number of visitors at any one time,
  • Reasonable limits based on the risk of infection,
  • Limits imposed as the result of an infectious disease outbreak,
  • Substance abuse treatment protocols,
  • Your need for privacy or rest,
  • For any other reason in which the hospital staff believes visitation will compromise the quality of your care.

Due to the level of care required on our behavioral health units, Hillcrest Behavioral Health Services does enforce strict visiting hours.
