Neurosurgery

Ohio Valley Medical Center, through a partnership with West Virginia University's Department of Neurosurgery, is ensuring that our operating rooms are staffed by some of the nation's top neurosurgeons and close to home!

The highly skilled surgeons of WVU's neurosurgery team have fully staffed, full-time offices at Ohio Valley Medical Center where patients are evaluated and treated. We are proud to have these neurosurgeons on call at OVMC around the clock, seven days a week. While neurosurgery services are available on campus, our team works closely with the staff of WVU's advanced care for disorders of the pituitary gland, spine and spinal cord, cranial and spinal nerves and autonomic nervous system. The WVU neurosurgeons at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, use the latest microsurgical techniques to treat aneurysms and AVMs, pituitary tumors, carotid/vertebral artery disorders, acoustic and skull-base tumors.

Expert treatment also is provided for spinal degenerative disease, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, neoplasms and trauma. The surgeons are at the forefront of new techniques in skull-base surgery, advanced stroke care, epilepsy surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, neuro-oncology and pain as well as functional disorders.
