Physical and Occupational Therapy Services - Michael Butkus
Mike is the Senior Therapist at East Ohio Regional Hospital Outpatient Center- St. Clairsville, Department of Physical Therapy. Mike has been practicing physical therapy since January of 2002.
Mike grew up in Belmont, OH and graduated from St. Clairsville High school where he was recognized at the state level for excelling in basketball and for his performance in baseball at the high school level. He continued his education at Wheeling Jesuit Univeristy while playing basketball at the collegiate level for four years. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Nuclear Medicine from WJU and after graduating Mike was accepted into the Physical Therapy Program at WJU and graduated with honors while earning his master's degree in Physical Therapy. He has been involved in basketball camps and coaching grade school children since being in college and continues to coach his son's basketball team.
Mike has certifications in Functional Capacity Evaluations, The American Back Pain Center and he has attended multiple CEU's to keep up with the best evidence-based treatments to quickly and efficiently rehabilitate his patients. Mike enjoys working with all disciplines of therapy but enjoys orthopedics and sports related injuries. He has a great knowledge of injury and recovery from sports related injuries.
Mike is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys fishing, hunting and riding atv's with his son, wife and immediate family. He has been married to his lovely wife since 2007 and has a son who was born in 2009. Mike loves his job and the challenge of helping people recover from injury and surgery.
