Orthopedic Specialist Certification
The Orthopedic specialty certification was initiated by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties to recognize physical therapists with advanced knowledge, experience and skills in the field of orthopedics.
Certification is granted to physical therapists that have passed the exam in their respective field. The exam consists of 200 questions, with a passing grade of greater than 500. For 2015, there were 1,061 individuals nationwide that earned the Orthopedic Specialist certification. Generally passing rates are less than 40% of those that take the exam.
Within a 25 mile radius, there are currently 6 physical therapists that are board certified orthopedic specialists.
