The five mile run and walk race is set to take place on Wednesday, July 4 at 8:30 a.m.

The race will wrap up at the Heritage Trail.”

Both running and walking events start at 8:30 a.m. Runners and walkers registering by July 1, will receive a Dri-Fit shirt. After finishing the race, a variety of food, snacks, and beverages will be provided for all participants.

“The Freedom Race has become a Fourth of July tradition in the Ohio Valley and we hope this race continues to be an all inclusive, family-friendly event,” said Frazier, “We’ve had such great support and participation in the past, and we expect this year to be no different. Our goal is always to make this race experience as enjoyable as possible for all involved.

Awards will be presented to both men’s and women’s top finishers in the run and walk categories. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Ohio Valley Runners’ Walkers’ Club.
