Pink Power Night Shines a Light on Lung CancerThursday, November 2, 2017
Pink Power Night returns on Tuesday, November 7 at East Ohio Regional Hospital with a special program, Shine a Light on Lung Cancer.
In order to raise awareness for this disease, Dr. Lyndave Francis-Frank will be presenting information that addresses prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of lung cancer that takes more lives annually than breast, prostate and colon cancer combined.
The evening begins at 5:30 pm in the lower level at EORH with free food and a chance to visit educational displays and visit vendors with great items to purchase. At 6:30 pm, the program kicks off with the OVMC/EORH Lung Clinic team led by Dr. Lyndave Francis-Frank. “I invite all to come to this very important program. We have made great strides in lung cancer diagnosis and treatment by providing screening for high-risk patients and thus early detection. Our goal is to provide hope, inspiration, and support for all those impacted by lung cancer but I do believe that education and prevention are truly the keys as we work to prevent the occurrence.” stated Dr. Frank.
In addition to Dr. Frank, other members of the Lung Clinic team will be on hand to provide information on tobacco cessation, low dose CT scans, and a demonstration of healthy lungs compared to diseased lungs that will certainly motivate you to live a healthy lifestyle. EORH and OVMC are designated Lung Cancer Screening Centers of Excellence by the Lung Cancer Alliance.
Other advocates and survivors will be present as all “Shine a Light” on lung cancer at the end of the evening in an effort to show support to all those touched by this illness. Shine a Light is a free, community-based event taking place at 200 healthcare facilities nationwide in partnership with the Lung Cancer Alliance.
. All who attend this free program will receive a Shine a Light flashlight or bracelet. Parking will be plentiful in the main parking lots at EORH located on 90 North 4th Street in Martins Ferry. Pre-registration is requested, but certainly not required. To make a reservation for the event or to get more information please contact Mary Velez, Marketing Manager at (304) 234-8643 or email@example.com.
