OVMC Physicians Assume Greco PracticeTuesday, July 21, 2009
WHEELING--Longtime Wheeling physicians, Drs. Rick and Carol Greco, have passed the reigns of their highly successful practice to Drs. Andrew and Jamie Etzel.
Both Marshall County natives, the Etzels are graduates of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine at Lewisburg and completed their residencies at Ohio Valley Medical Center. Both are board certified in Internal Medicine.
\"We are very fortunate to be back in the area to practice medicine and are excited to be taking over the Greco practice,\" Jamie Etzel said.
The practice was originally established in the mid-1980s by the Grecos, both of whom have moved on to pursue other interests in the medical field. Carol Greco has recently accepted a position with Valley Hospice in Wheeling, while Rick continues to take a more active role in the Medical Education Department at OVMC.
As director for the program, Rick Greco worked closely with both of the Etzels as they completed their internships and residencies at OVMC.
\"When you've worked with people and established a private practice and developed relationships, it's very difficult just to leave it behind,\" Rick commented. \"We feel very comfortable having the Etzels take over. We're confident that they will continue to provide care in much the same way that we did for many so many years.\"
\"Having my own practice for many years in the Ohio Valley has been rewarding in many ways,\" Carol Greco added. \"Rick and I know that Drs. Andrew and Jamie will continue the high level of care that we have provided to our patients.\"
The Etzels are thrilled to be a permanent part of the OVMC Family and look forward to working with patients and their families.
\"Partnering with OVMC was a natural fit for us, and we feel very secure that our patients will receive the best care and services in the Ohio Valley at their facilities,\" Andrew Etzel commented.
The Etzels are accepting new patients at their OVMC location at 2115 Chapline Street, Suite 104.
