OVMC Center for Breast Care Offer Nutrition Support Group for Cancer Patients
October 28, 2011
WHEELING, W.Va. – Ohio Valley Medical Center’s Center for Breast Care will be hosting a nutrition support group for cancer patients across the Ohio Valley hosted by registered dietician Trina Kropka, MS, RD, LD. The first support group gathering has been slated for Tuesday, November 8 at 11:30 a.m. in the Overlook Cafeteria at OVMC.
“We felt celebrating breast cancer awareness in October provided us with a great opportunity to begin offering a nutrition support group for cancer patients who may have questions or concerns about what they can do during their fight against cancer,” said Shawn Ware, lifetime certified breast cancer patient navigator. “Trina’s presentations will provide patients with basic nutritional guidelines, in-depth counseling, suggested questions to ask your physician and more.”
While the first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, OVMC’s Center for Breast Care will be hosting this nutrition support group on the second Tuesday, every other month at 11:30 a.m. in the Overlook Cafeteria.
“We hope this support group will provide cancer patients throughout our area with an opportunity to gather with other patients and support each other while learning more about various aspects of fighting cancer,” said Ware. “We’re looking forward to holding our first meeting next month.”
