OVMC/EORH Teams With Wal-Mart for Convenient Care ClinicThursday, February 16, 2012
WHEELING, W.Va. – Walmart (NYSE: WMT) and Ohio Valley Health Services & Education Corporation announced the grand opening of its newest location for basic health care services in the St. Clairsville area – “The Clinic at Walmart”. This convenient care clinic held its grand opening celebration on Monday, February 13.
The clinic will provide convenient, affordable access to basic health care services, seven days a week, with no appointment necessary. The walk-in health clinic is the first clinic of its kind in the Ohio Valley and the first operated by OVHS&E.
“By joining with Walmart to provide this easy access facility, we are proud to improve access to health care in our community and provide each of our patients with innovative solutions to their basic health care needs,” said Michael J. Caruso, interim president and CEO of Ohio Valley Medical Center and East Ohio Regional Hospital. “The clinic will also fill a need for many of our patients who may not have a family physician Our mission has always been to provide quality, compassionate state-of-the-art family care and we look forward to continuing this mission through the service of our clinic.”
For busy customers who need care, especially after working hours or on weekends, the clinic will treat common health ailments and offer routine services. Health services include, but are not limited to, blood sugar testing, camp and school physicals, cholesterol screenings, common vaccinations, ear aches, flu, insect bites and stings, minor wounds, sinus infections and upper respiratory infections.
